A felt-covered ball with real studs, not a printed pattern.

The glass ball is finished in felt, then set with small gold studs across the surface, so the pattern is raised and catches light differently from a smooth glossy ornament. It comes in three sizes: the Small at 3.25 inches and the Medium at 4 inches are sold in sets of six, and the Large at 4.75 inches comes in a set of four, enough to run one finish from top to bottom of a full-size tree. Because the felt doesn't reflect, it gives the eye somewhere to rest between shinier pieces.

Start with a set of the Medium, then add the Large near the bottom where the branches are longer.
