The Langham takes its name from the London hotel that has defined quiet, unhurried luxury since 1865 — and the box makes good on that reference entirely. The exterior is dark espresso wood veneer, lacquered smooth and deep, its sides and base a study in the kind of understated richness that requires no ornament. The lid is where the craft declares itself: a shagreen-textured panel in warm taupe — its pebbly surface set flush within the veneer surround like a picture in a frame — creates a material contrast that is tactile as much as visual. The brass clasp at the front is a single slim line of gold, barely there and entirely essential. Inside, a fabric-lined interior in a complementary tone holds whatever is placed within it with the considered quietness of a jewellery case or a private archive. At 9 by 6 inches, it is the precise dimensions of something that belongs on a desk, a dressing table, a bedside surface, or the shelf of a very good bar cart.
